County Roads
Woodland's street system is overlaid on top of a larger perpendicular grid of numbered county roads. County roads that do not have a letter after the number are spaced exactly one mile apart from each other. County roads with letters after the number may run parallel to that numbered road or may run diagonally. North-south roads have numbers from 83 to 117 (though only 98 to 102 make contact with Woodland), and their numbers increase from west to east. East-west roads have numbers from 1 to 38a (and randomly 152 and 155; however, only 18C through 25A make contact with Woodland), and their numbers increase from north to south.

Streets with Multiple Names
Most of the major thoroughfares in Woodland are known by multiple names. Streets that cross East Street and/or West Street have their names prefixed with "East" east of East Street and with "West" west of West Street. Streets that cross Beamer Street (curiously, not North Street) have their names prefixed with "North" north of Beamer Street. The largest streets that extend out of town also have names in the "County Road [Number]" format, which they're known by outside of the city limits. These seemingly slight name changes are very important to get right, because the address numbers used on, say, Main Street are used again on East Main Street and West Main Street, signifying different buildings distinguished only by the "East" or "West" in the street names. However, for the purposes of this LocalWiki, information on streets such as East Main Street and West Main Street will be listed under subheadings on the Main Street page rather than on separate pages.

Names with Multiple Streets
- Don't confuse Beamer Street (a major east-west thoroughfare in northern Woodland) with Beamer Road (a small country road in northeast Woodland). They have nothing to do with one another.
- Similarly, Cardinal Drive in the northwest part of town has nothing to do with Cardinal Way in the southeast part of town.
- Cunningham Way in western Woodland has nothing to do with Cunningham Lane in central Woodland.
- Hays Street and Oak Avenue in the central part of town have nothing to do with Hays Lane or Oak Drive in the eastern part of town.
- Ivy Way in eastern Woodland has nothing to do with Ivie Place in western Woodland.
- Don't confuse West North Street with North West Street. They're very different!
Other Noteworthy Streets
Unlike in many other cities, the numbered and lettered streets in Woodland (not including the County Roads) do not intersect with one another, and the lettered streets in particular are not at all major streets. The lettered streets are located on the opposite side of East Street from the numbered streets.
- A Street, B Street, C Street, and D Street, are all one-block-long dead-end streets that project northward from Armfield Avenue (off East Street, just north of East Main Street). They are connected by an unnamed alley. E Street is another one-block-long street, but projecting southward from Armfield Avenue and connecting it to East Main Street. There are no lettered streets beyond E Street.
- 1st Street, 2nd Street, 5th Street, and 6th Street (2nd Street, 3rd Street, and 4th Street are described above, under "Streets with Multiple Names."
- Dead Cat Alley and Dog Gone Alley are centrally located, memorably named, and an important part of Woodland's character.
- Hobo Alley is another of Woodland's many alleys, most of which have no formal names.
