Get geared up! Helmets, Bikes, Bells! Meet up at the playground in FM Smith Park, at the corner of Newton Ave and Park Blvd in Oakland. Helmets required for kids. We will be exploring the East Lake district of Oakland, including a quick tour of Lake Merritt and a mid-ride stop at San Antonio Park to share snacks. There will be a few hills to climb, but rest-assured that walking bikes on the sidewalk can be used as a safer and easier option for those not up to the challenge -- the ride will pause at the top of any hill until all riders are ready to continue. Route is approximately 5 miles long.Be sure to pack snacks, water, and clothing appropriate to weather conditions!
