Tweed rides are a group bicycle ride in which participants dress in traditional British cycling attire in celebration of the Golden Era of the Bicycle.

Following in the tradition of similar rides in cities such as San Francisco and London, the first inaugural East Bay Tweed Ride took place on the afternoon of May 26, 2013East Bay Tweed Ride Announcement).  Approximately 25 cyclists in charming, turn-of-the-century garb gathered at the Pillars at Lake Merritt and took a leisurely ride around Oakland and Berkeley to the delight of onlookers.  The event was sponsored in part by Oakland clothing-maker B.Spoke Tailor. 

The next East Bay Tweed Ride is scheduled for Sunday September 15, 2013 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.  This ride is being co-sponsored by B.Spoke Tailor and the East Bay Bicycle Coalition
