We love the Trades Hall, the Bella Union Bar it hosts, the Radical Bookshop and the history.

In reality, the unions have been deeply disappointing for over two decades. Still obsessed with making people work, instead of reaching for the promise of a world without work, the Victorian Trades Hall Council is stuck in the 20th century. Between favouring the construction union over the environment, turning a blind eye to movement damaging corruption and insisting on a "work will set you free" mindset, the VTHC has ensured that labour is still part of our every day lives. Every election they decide to back the "lesser of two evils" in the Labor party, instead of decrying the inherent corruption of all parties and the "democratic" system, they are delaying the inevitable revolution. Tread carefully, but safe to ignore.
