Traffic Light

Traffic lights, traffic signals, or stop lights, whatever you call them - can be a lifesaver, a minor inconvenience, or a major pain in the tuckus during a commute. While Conway is a relatively small town, there are enough traffic lights that some of them are worth noting. This is the place to post particularly bad (or good!!) intersections, and maybe... juuuust maybe... somebody in the city works can do something about it.

Bad stoplights:

My personal hell stoplight is the one on Country Club, heading south, where it intersects Prince. If you catch it on a fresh red, you will be sitting there for what feels like FOREVER. In reality this is probably less than two minutes... but it seems excessive when the traffic on Prince is light. -JeffPadberg

Traveling south on Salem, where it intersects College, can be a nightmare in the afternoon for a left turn onto College. Presumably, the signal is programmed to optimize traffic flow coming north on Salem, but if you need a left onto College, the signal sometimes will simply not give a green arrow for a few cycles of the light. -Jeff Padberg

Good stoplights:

Perhaps this category is unnecessary - a "good" stoplight is never really noticed by the driver! -JeffPadberg

Places where a stoplight might be needed:

Heading north on Western, where it leaves UCA and faces the hospital, might be a good place for a stoplight. -JeffPadberg
