George Robert Swain (1866-1947) was an Ann Arbor commercial photographer and a staff photographer for the University of Michigan from 1915-1947. His collection of photographs and papers is kept at the Bentley Historical Library and includes scenes of the Ann Arbor campus as well as images of the University of Michigan Near East Research Expedition (1924-1934). Over 10,000 negatives are in the collection.
