Ypsilanti hosted a professional minor league baseball team for exactly one year, 1913, in southeast Michigan's Border League. The league itself only existed for two years, 1912-1913, before evaporating; author Mark Okkonen notes that Ypsilanti, "can make the claim that they never participated in a minor league pennant race that they didn't win", beating the defending champions from Wyandotte with a record of 24-10. Details are spotty, but Okkonen states that the team was organized by M. K. Phillips and William Varney; games were likely played at Ypsi's Recreation Park, the location best equipped at the time to host a baseball team, though this information is unconfirmed by any primary source materials.

Spalding's Offical Base Ball Guide lists W. C. Pierce as manager of the team.
